Netizens’ Violating Politeness Principles in Critizing The Indonesian Government

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find the form of speech that violates the principle of politeness and to find out what maxims are violated. The statement came from the tweet reply column from @FiersaBesari twitter account. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this research used documentation, listen, and notes. The results of this study were found 15 utterances from @FiersaBesari tweet reply column that violated the principle of politeness. The maxims that were violated in the speech found were the maxim of generosity, the maxim of wisdom, the maxim of appreciation, the maxim of consensus, and the maxim of sympathy
